I cannot begin to tell you how truely awesome this piece is. The pose the colors, everything looks like it could be a still right out of a cartoon. You've even got details in there that most other people ignore; his tear-lines, the buckles/stone-settings on his leathers, the cat-like slits of his eyes...
Definately the most rock'n, picture of Mallie I have ever seen!

I defy you, stereotypes!
The coloring is great, especially in the snow, but the changing colors in the scarf's edge lines are a little hard to take in.
The snow effect looks amazing; it adds to the picture without dominating it.

I think what I like the most is that awesome scarf around his neck. Those colours are just so vibrant and awesome in a gentle snowy white landscape. Totally adds to this piece oh-so-much.
Awesome work hon!

What I think, I create.
What I create, I draw.
What I draw, I love.
What I love, is everything to me.
I prefer creativity, originality, dynamics and sassiness over cut and paste and paintfill and trace.
I learn from honest critique. Do you?
Thanks very much. Malachi doesn’t normally wear a scarf, but I thought it would be a good touch for a winter-themed pic. Chakotay had said his favorite colours are blue and gold, so I tried to work that in.
I seem to have this compulsion to adorn characters’ necks. It could be a necklace, a choker, a scarf, a tie, or whatever: they have to be wearing something around the neck. I don’t know why.
Chakotay’s work needs more love. She has a unique, fantasy-influenced style and sense of character design. I’ve never seen Sonic characters done quite like hers.

I like snow (artistically, not in real life). The lazy artist in me appreciates its simplicity, but it’s also aesthetically pleasing and good for evoking moods and feelings.

It took a while, but all my finished drawings do, even the simplest ones. I wanted to do Malachi justice, so I tried not to gloss over the details that make him cool.
